Harmony Singers - Community Chorus in Wayne, New Jersey
Our Ensemble

Harmony Singers is a non-profit professionally directed community chorus whose objective is to bring together people who love to sing and audiences who are seeking low-cost, quality local entertainment. It was founded in 1965 by a small group of choral music lovers who first met as choristers in the Packanack section of Wayne. Enthusiastic acceptance by singers and audience alike has enabled us to continue for over 50 years.

The singers, about 40 men and women, vary in age and musical abilities. All voice parts are represented: Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass.

The organization is run by a volunteer Board and committees. All members are expected to help out in some way.

Our Music Director

Lisa Russoniello teaches Vocal Music for grades 6 through 12 at Wayne Valley High School and Anthony Wayne Middle School, and is also the Musical Director of the Wayne Valley High School productions.

Lisa has also been the musical director for the summer musical theatre camps at Rhino Theater,  for the past 12 years. She was an honoree in theater education at their 2015 gala, and recently was the music director for their studio production of Songs for a New World.  Lisa enjoys every aspect of musical theater from being on stage to conducting the orchestra.

Besides music, Lisa is a member of the AAUW, Mountain Lakes branch, which is the only branch with a chorus, of which she was the director/accompanist for many years.  Lisa also studies the Alexander Technique and gives private voice and piano lessons.  She loves spending time with her wonderful son Alec, who attends Lycoming College in Pennsylvania.

Our Accompanist

Carrie Stewart was the group’s accompanist from 1997-1999, and stepped down from the position after the birth of her second child. She is married to her college sweetheart, and they reside in Riverdale, NJ with their 3 children. After graduating from Westminster Choir College with a degree in Music Education with Piano Principle, she went on to become the Choral Director at Morristown High School, Basking Ridge High School, and also taught at the elementary school level at St. Mary’s School in Pompton Lakes, and E.G. Hewitt School in Ringwood, NJ. She is currently the Music Director for the Spring Musical at Saint Elizabeth Academy in Convent Station, NJ, and she teaches private music lessons out of her home.

Carrie has always had a passion for music, not only in teaching, but for ministry. She was the director of music at Somerset Hills Lutheran Church in Basking Ridge, NJ from 2002-2004, and in 2004 became the Assistant Music Director of St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, until 2010. Right now, she enjoys playing for various schools and churches, and is truly thrilled to be back with the Wayne Harmony Singers.
